As a mommy to a child that was birthed by another mother who loves her so much, I can only tell you how I felt when our birthmom introduced us to our daughter for the first time!! It was incredible & scary & exciting & nauseating (b/c we were so scared) & just undescribable joy!!! I prayed & prayed & prayed that one day we could adopt a child & that we would have them before they took their first step (was very specific about that part), when we arrived at the hospital, OUR (b/c we all share her) daughter was 45 min old & our angel birthmom had advised the staff to not do a thing until we arrived!! We were there for her first diaper (yes, she laid naked for 45 min), her first bottle, her first bath.....it was incredible & all because our birthmom was allowing us to be a part of it!! Absolutely amazing....I've always said & will continue to shout from the rooftops that "birthmoms are my hero"! Tks for loving your baby enough to share him!!

WOW! Joy, that is beautiful and wonderful and I'm crying! How sweet you are and gracious towards Beth and John knowing how they felt. I loved hearing you talk about your mom feeding Michael and your aunt just snapping away tons of pictures, it just sounds wonderful! I'm glad your cousins turned out okay (serious, but okay) did they ever find out?

I cannot wait to see where the blog goes from here!

I have tears in my eyes. What a beautiful experience. I love what you said about how babies are all beautiful to their mothers. I have heard some people say that NOT all babies are beautiful. I realize that some have more battle wounds from delivery than others, but I have always felt that when you look into a baby's eyes you see perfect beauty.
